In a recent tweet, renowned Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that Manchester United have agreed to permanently part ways with Alexis Sanchez this summer. The same source has also stated that the Red Devils have agreed to let Inter Milan sign the Chilean international for free, but the Italian side will have to pay him €7m/season.

Sanchez’s Impressive Loan Spell At The San Siro
The 31-year-old enjoyed a fruitful loan spell in Italy last season as he produced some mesmerising displays as part of Antonio Conte’s attack. He made 29 appearances for the Italian outfit in the previous campaign, netting four goals and providing ten assists on all fronts which highlight his return to form in the final third.
The Chilean international found a run of consistency with his performances as well based on his average of 1.2 shots, 1.6 key passes, 0.7 crosses and 1.2 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Serie A and European football last season. However, he has been a bit untidy with his ball-distribution as evident from his pass completion rate of 75.5% in league football (stats via whoscored).
Sanchez has got a wealth of experience at the international stage after earning 132 senior caps for the Chilean national team while registering 43 goals for his country in the process. Maybe a permanent switch to the San Siro could help the veteran playmaker maintain his decent run of form and keep his place in Chile’s squad in the years to come.
What Are The Chilean International’s Best Attributes?
Sanchez has lost a yard of pace from his game over the past couple of years, but he can still be a devastating presence out on the wide areas. He can make some dangerous dribbles in the attacking third and has the vision to pick out a killer pass going forward.
The Chilean is also proficient at creating space for himself in order to get a few shots in on-target. He has proven his worth as a capable assist-maker, but needs to improve his end-product in front of the opposition goal if he wants to stay relevant at the highest level. Sanchez is highly versatile as he can operate in any position across the frontline which makes him such a valuable member of Conte’s squad.
Man United Agree To Permanently Part Ways With Sanchez: A No-Brainer For The Red Devils?
Since making a switch from Arsenal at the start of 2018, Sanchez has failed to live up to the high expectations at Old Trafford. Therefore, it makes sense for the Red Devils to part ways with him permanently this summer, even if it means losing him for free.
The Chilean’s massive wages have been a huge headache for Ed Woodward, so getting him off Man United’s wage bill will be a big boost to the club’s finances in the long-run. Hence, it is a no-brainer for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to sanction Sanchez’s exit this summer.
