It is understood that Pep Guardiola’s team have paid £2.65m up front and will have to cough up another £1.75m when the youngster completes his move in January and a further, £0.8m in January 2022 (via Manchester Evening News).
Rosa’s Recent Emergence In South American Football
The promising midfield ace has made his way up the youth ranks of Gremio in recent years before consolidating his spot as a regular member of the Brazilian outfit’s ‘B’ side. Rosa has impressed a lot with his eye-catching performances in Brazilian football, but still has plenty to learn if he wants to be a success story at the top level. The Brazilian whizkid has usually been deployed as a box to box midfielder over the past few seasons. However, he can even fill in as a defensive midfielder if required.
Rosa has found the back of the net on two occasions in 11 matches for the Brazilian U-17 team and has successfully made his mark in youth football. Even though the early signs have been quite promising from the 17-year-old, yet it is still too early to determine whether he has got the hunger to succeed at the senior level.
What Are The Brazilian Sensation’s Best Attributes?
Rosa tends to make some energetic runs in the opposition half using his pace and dribbling ability. He can launch a few powerful strikes from long range and is also proficient at reading the danger quickly, which allows him to provide adequate protection for his teammates at the back. The Brazilian wonderkid can use his robust frame to win his fair share of midfield duels in the air. He remains calm under pressure and is slowly transforming himself into an accomplished finisher in front of goal.
Is Rosa A Prospect To Look Out For The Future?
Rosa has the potential to reach for the stars based on his recent showings across various youth levels. However, Man City needs to ensure that he gets enough time to develop under the watchful eyes of Pep Guardiola if they intend to get the best out of him in the coming seasons.
The Mancunian giants are always looking to add world-class prospects like Rosa to their academy as they are hoping to build for the future. Hence, the Brazilian fits the bill perfectly as he is young and has the ceiling to become a top-class midfielder someday.
The rapid rise of Phil Foden and Tommy Doyle at the Etihad Stadium should serve as proof that Guardiola could be the perfect man to nurture Rosa and develop him into a first-team player. There is no doubt that the Gremio starlet is a prospect to look out for in the future and would be a shrewd, long-term acquisition for Man City.
