In a recent tweet, Supersport Kosovo reporter Arlind Sadiku has claimed that Aston Villa are in advanced talks with Werder Bremen and Milot Rashica’s agent over a potential move this summer. It has been reported that the Villans are the favourites to land the Kosovan wing wizard in this off-season, but could face fierce competition from Red Bull Leipzig, AS Monaco and Wolverhampton Wanderers in pursuit of the player.
Next week will be decisive for the future of Milot Rashica. Werder Bremen and his agent are in advanced talks with Aston Villa, who are the favourites to transfer Kosovo midfielder. Leipzig, Monaco and Wolverhampton are other three options. #rashica #astonvilla #transfer pic.twitter.com/pxWRSxhD4W

Rashica’s Impressive Form In German Football Last Season
Rashica enjoyed a sensational campaign in Germany last season after establishing himself as a top performer in Florian Kohfeldt’s first-team. He featured in 34 matches for the German outfit in the previous campaign, registering 11 goals and eight assists across all fronts.
The 24-year-old managed to help his team avoid relegation via the playoffs as they played out a 2-2 draw with Heidenheim over two legs last month. Bremen hung on to their top-flight status by the skin of their teeth because of the away goals rule with Rashica playing a pivotal role in their road to survival.
The 25-time Kosovo international has been a consistent performer at the Weser Stadium based on his average of 2.6 shots, 1.4 key passes, 2.0 dribbles and 1.0 crosses per game in the Bundesliga. However, he could improve his ball-distribution after completing 75.9% of his attempted passes in the top tier of Germany (stats via whoscored).
What Will The Kosovan International Bring To Villa Park?
Rashica boasts blistering pace, which he can use to travel with the ball at his feet on the left flank. He is also versatile enough to fill in as a centre-forward or as a secondary striker if required. Furthermore, the Breman star packs a lot of power with his shots from long range which explains how he banged in 11 goals in German football last season.
Dean Smith is in dire need to bring in more quality to Villa Park this summer so that he can build a strong squad that will be capable of steering clear of the drop zone in the upcoming campaign. Hence, Rashica fits the bill perfectly as he will bolster Villa’s attacking options significantly before the start of the new season.
The Kosovan wide player will add a lot of pace, goals and creativity to Smith’s frontline. He will even free up space for Jack Grealish to be deployed in his natural position as a box-to-box midfielder if the Villans can retain their captain’s services beyond this summer.
With all things considered, it makes sense for the West Midlands outfit to lure the Bremen winger to England as he will help them retain their top-flight status next season. Plus, his electric pace and goal-threat make him a significant upgrade over Trezeguet, Anwar El Ghazi, Jota, Mbwana Samatta, Wesley Moraes and Keinan Davis at Villa Park. Therefore, Smith should orchestrate a move to recruit him before the summer transfer window slams shut later this year.
