West Ham United will entertain Watford at the London Stadium on Friday evening hoping to pick up a win at home so that they can get themselves out of relegation danger heading into the final two matches of this Premier League campaign. The Hammers have enjoyed a dominant 4-0 win over Norwich City last weekend, but are sitting just three points above the drop zone and are level on points with the Hornets in the league table. Therefore, this upcoming showdown between the two teams could be a ‘relegation six-pointer’.
David Moyes will probably stick with his preferred 4-2-3-1 formation and might be inclined to name an unchanged team for this clash at the English capital.
4-2-3-1 West Ham United Predicted Lineup To Face Watford
Defence
Łukasz Fabiański will continue to feature in between the sticks for the Londoners after securing a clean sheet versus the Canaries last weekend. Angelo Ogbonna will once again operate alongside Issa Diop at the centre of the West Ham backline as they try to keep Watford’s Troy Deeney quiet throughout the 90 minutes on Friday.
Ryan Fredericks will get another chance to impress at right-back while Aaron Cresswell takes his place on the other side as the left-back. Moyes will instruct both his full-backs to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack so that they can provide some decent service to the front players.
Midfield
Tomas Soucek has been in fine form since the Premier League’s restart, so he will be a nailed-on starter along with Declan Rice at the centre of the park as they look to win the midfield battle later this week. The hard-working trio of Jarrod Bowen, Mark Noble and Pablo Fornals will operate just ahead of them as part of the Hammers attack.
Noble enjoyed playing in the number ten role and managed to pick up two assists versus the Canaries last weekend. Hence, Moyes is expected to continue playing him in that position while both Fornals and Bowen try to stretch the pitch out on the wide areas.
Both Robert Snodgrass and Felipe Anderson are major doubts for this game, but Manuel Lanzini should be available for selection on the bench.
Attack
Michail Antonio arguably had the best game of his West Ham career last weekend when he scored four goals against Norwich which would do his confidence a world of good. He will once again hope to produce a productive display when he laces up to lead the line for the East London giants on Friday.
