Wolverhampton Wanderers played hosts to Everton at the Molineux Stadium earlier today hoping to pick up maximum points at home. The West Midlands outfit made a dominant start to the game but struggled to break the Toffees down in the first half. Raul Jimenez finally managed to make the breakthrough when he gave Wolves the lead via the penalty spot just before the half-time break.
The second half was more of the same with Nuno Espirito Santo’s men pushing on in search of more goals. They scored two more goals courtesy of Leander Dendoncker’s header and Diogo Jota’s finish to secure a comfortable 3-0 victory over their Merseyside opponents.
Let’s take a look at how each Wolves player fared during the match against the Toffees.
GK: Rui Patricio – 7/10
The Portuguese keeper was hardly tested during the game and kept an easy clean sheet today. He made one decent stop to deny Dominic Calvert-Lewin and was also quite inventive with his long balls as he managed to create a couple of decent chances on the counter.
CB: Willy Boly – 6.5/10
He was relatively untroubled during the 90 minutes and would be happy to secure another clean sheet in the Premier League.
CB: Conor Coady – 7/10
The former Liverpool player maintained a good defensive shape at the back and dealt with any danger that came his way.
CB: Roman Saiss – 6.5/10
The talented defender put in a tidy display as part of Nuno Santo’s back three and did enough to restrict the Toffees from scoring a goal.
RWB: Matt Doherty – 7/10
The Wolves wing-back was regularly linking up with Podence down the right flank and got himself into some dangerous areas in the final third.
CM: Leander Dendoncker – 8/10
The Belgian midfielder made the points secure for Wolves when he scored with a smart header after the half-time interval. He produced another tireless performance at the heart of Nuno Santo’s midfield.
CM: Ruben Neves – 8.5/10

LWB: Jonny Otto – 7/10
He was defensively solid and had a few bright moments in the opposition half. Overall, it was another impressive display from him on the left-wing.
RW: Pedro Neto – 7.5/10

ST: Raul Jimenez – 7.5/10
The Mexican international kept his composure to slot home the penalty which gave the home team the all-important lead. He was lively and energetic during the game when leading the charge down the middle.
LW: Daniel Podence – 8/10
It was a coming of age performance from him today. He was outstanding going forward and orchestrated some inviting opportunities to score in the final third. Podence got a deserved assist to his name for all of his good work during the game.
Substitutes:
LW: Diogo Jota – 8/10
He made a few brilliant breakaway runs and was quite dangerous on the break. Jota kept his composure to net a fine goal after coming off the bench.
