It seems no matter what happens in the Alfredo Morelos saga, Florian Kamberi will not sign for Rangers. As of now, the club have moved on from him and are looking for options that can ideally bolster the starting eleven.
A source confirmed to me today that a move to Rangers is not going to happen, ”There are no negotiations, unfortunately. Rangers don’t think he did well enough for a contract. He will be moving away from Scotland in the next few weeks if everything goes to plan.
”Probably fairer to say that Rangers don’t see him as a starter and at his age, he needs to play every week. He will get offered more money elsewhere.”
When asked about what next for the player, I was not given any names of clubs. However, it was made clear that he is home and assessing options including offers from the Championship, ”He is in Switzerland to discuss things with the family and due back Thursday.”
”A player is only worth what a team want to pay and clubs know Kamberi won’t start the season. There are salary caps next season in Championship but I think they kick in from August 6 so probably see a lot of activity early from Championship teams.”
It does seem Rangers are more interested in pursuing a move for former Leeds United forward Kemar Roofe.
