West Ham United will clash heads with Newcastle United at St. James’ Park on Sunday afternoon hoping to pick up maximum points on the road. The Hammers will come into this game on the back of a 3-2 victory over Chelsea in the London derby in midweek. Similarly, the Magpies are flying high after earning four wins in their past six matches across all competitions.
David Moyes will opt for a 4-3-3 formation and might bring back Mark Noble to his starting XI for this clash away at Tyneside.
4-3-3 West Ham United Predicted Lineup To Face Newcastle United
Defence
Łukasz Fabiański will lineup in between the sticks for the Hammers despite conceding six goals in his past three league starts. Angelo Ogbonna will operate alongside Issa Diop at the heart of the West Ham defence as they try to cope with the threat of Newcastle’s Joelinton this weekend.
Ryan Fredericks will retain his place at right-back while Aaron Cresswell looks to impress on the other side as the left-back. However, both of them will have their hands full while up against the in-form Newcastle duo of Allan Saint-Maximin and Dwight Gayle out on the wide areas.
Midfield
Moyes will opt for a midfield three comprised of Mark Noble, Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek for this upcoming league encounter at St. James’ Park. Noble is a slight concern for this game but should start if he can pass a late fitness test. The midfield trio will focus on fighting for every loose ball at the centre of the park so that they can make life difficult for the home side this weekend. They will also be expected to provide adequate protection to the West Ham backline if they are to grind out a result versus Steve Bruce’s men.
Manuel Lanzini, Jack Wilshere and Felipe Anderson will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second half if needed.
Attack
Pablo Fornals and Jarrod Bowen will continue to operate as the wingers while Michail Antonio once again gets the responsibility to lead the charge for the East London outfit down the middle. Antonio found the back of the net against the Blues, so he would fancy his chances of getting his name on the scoresheet again when he laces up to face the Newcastle defence on Sunday.
Andriy Yarmolenko will be named on the bench as he looks to produce another productive display as an impact substitute following his match-winning heroics in midweek.
