With the Premier League season scheduled to restart later this month, Liverpool fans will be excited as their club are just two wins away from clinching the Premier League title. The Reds boss Jurgen Klopp will have his work cut out for him as he has only over two weeks left to prepare his players for the restart.
The one silver lining behind the league season’s postponement because of the COVID-19 pandemic has been that the Merseyside club will have some of their injured stars back which include their first-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker. Hence, there are some reasons to be optimistic after a challenging few months without live football.
Playing the matches behind close doors won’t do a club like Liverpool any good as Klopp’s players often feed off the energy of their Anfield crowd. With the English top-flight set to resume soon, let’s take a look at the strongest Liverpool lineup and their formation.
4-3-3 Strongest Liverpool Lineup For The Premier League Restart
Defence
Alisson Becker will be a guaranteed starter in between the sticks as he looks to make a strong comeback after missing out on the disappointing second-leg loss to Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League last 16. Virgil Van Dijk will once again resume his centre-back partnership with Joe Gomez at the heart of the Reds backline. Both defenders will hope to strike up a solid understanding so that they can help their side wrap up the league title as soon as possible.
Trent Alexander-Arnold will be Klopp’s preferred choice in the right-back position while Andrew Robertson will be nailed-on to operate on the other side as the left-back. They will both focus on pushing high up the pitch to provide adequate support for the front players.
Midfield
The Merseyside outfit’s midfield will be comprised of Georginio Wijnaldum, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson. The talented trio has been Klopp’s favourite choice at the centre of the park during this campaign so there is no reason why that trend won’t continue when the season resumes later this month.
Both Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will have to settle for a spot on the bench. Curtis Jones might also get a first-team push towards the end of this season if the Merseyside giants can bag the league title soon after the restart.
Attack
Liverpool’s fabulous front three of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah should continue to feature up top. Both Salah and Mane are still in the golden boot race so they will be desperate to bang in the goals when the Premier League campaign restarts at Anfield this summer.
Both Divock Origi and Takumi Minamino will make up the numbers on the Reds bench. They might get a chance to influence the game as impact substitutes if Liverpool need a goal late in the game.
