Premier League giants Chelsea secured their progress into the semifinals of this season’s edition of the FA Cup after beating fellow top-four rival Leicester City by a 1-0 scoreline. Frank Lampard’s side started the fixture looking extremely vulnerable, as the Leicester attackers seemed to be able to penetrate the Blues back-line at will. Having weathered the storm till the halfway mark, Lampard made three bold substitutions that completely changed the match. The London club soon began to dominate possession, and the only goal of the game was scored by one of the half-time subs, Ross Barkley.
Here Are The Chelsea Player Ratings Vs Leicester City
Chelsea Player Ratings Vs Leicester City
Willy Caballero – 6
The Argentine stopper made several clean saves all through the ninety but made one mistake that could’ve cost Lampard’s men the whole fixture. Played some good passes out from the back.
Reece James – 5.5
The youngster played a couple of good passes out but was given a torrid time by the pace of Harvey Barnes down that flank. Wasn’t allowed to attack anywhere near as much as he would’ve liked.
Antonio Rudiger – 7
Showed uncertainty during certain passages in the fixture, but overall put up a reliable performance at the heart of the defence. Used his physical superiority to ensure that the Foxes were kept at bay.
Kurt Zouma – 7
The Frenchman did play a couple of terrible passes in the opening minutes of the game but came back a lot stronger in the second period. Didn’t allow Vardy or Perez too much running room.
Emerson – 6
The best way to describe the Italian international’s performance tonight would be average. He didn’t do the greatest defensive job, while at the same time didn’t contribute going forward either.
N’Golo Kante – 6.5
The French midfield destroyer was far from his best on the night, as he misplaced a flurry of passes all through the fixture. Did provide some defensive cover, but will need to be more consistent.
Billy Gilmour – 5
The Scot was given his chance from the start today, but he didn’t perform near the expected level. Played multiple loose passes which the Blues were lucky not to concede from.
Willian – 7.5
The Brazilian speedster put in an excellent shift down the flank tonight as his work-rate and quality on the ball were both sublime. Played a beautiful pass into the box for the Barkley goal.
Mason Mount – 5
Although he did offer some good pressing in the opening minutes, the Englishman struggled to have any sort of real impact in the first half. Invisible for large portions as the Foxes dominated the chances.
Christian Pulisic – 8
The American put up yet another mesmerising display down the right flank. Looked confident in possession and seemed to ooze finesse every time he dribbled through the Foxes’ core.
Tammy Abraham – 7
The English forward didn’t have the most influential of outings but did put in a commendable shift playing as the lone striker. Held the ball up efficiently all through the ninety and worked hard too.

The Englishman was one of the three players brought on at half-time by Lampard. Had an immediate impact and wholly altered the tempo of the game. Did superbly to score the winner as well.

The Spaniard was thrown on by Lampard as he looked to quieten the pace of Harvey Barnes. The Leicester man was almost invisible after the Chelsea skipper entered the fixture.
