Manchester United will face off against Brighton and Hove Albion at the American Express Community Stadium on Tuesday evening looking to claim maximum points on the road. The Red Devils will come into this contest after picking up back-to-back wins over Sheffield United and Norwich City respectively.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to revert to his strongest starting XI for this clash away at the south coast of England, so both David De Gea and Aaron Wan-Bissaka should return for this match versus the Seagulls in midweek.
4-2-3-1 Manchester United Predicted Lineup To Face Brighton
Defence
David De Gea will return in between the sticks for the Red Devils after being rested against the Canaries in the FA Cup clash on Saturday. Harry Maguire will once again lineup alongside Victor Lindelof at the centre of Solskjaer’s defence as they try to neutralise the threat of Brighton striker Neal Maupay, who scored an injury-time winner versus Arsenal earlier this month.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka could get the nod to start at right-back while Luke Shaw operates on the other side as the left-back. Both Man United full-backs will be instructed to maintain a high line and push high up the pitch so that they can provide enough service to Anthony Martial up top.
Midfield
Solskjaer might go with Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba to anchor the midfield on Tuesday evening. The talented trio of Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Daniel James will play just ahead of them as part of the Man United attack. All three of them will have to create some decent goal-scoring chances if they intend to secure a positive result at the Amex Stadium.
Fred and Scott McTominay will have to settle for a spot on the bench but could get a chance to come on and give a good account of themselves if Solskjaer needs their services.
Attack
Anthony Martial has been in red-hot form for Man United of late. Hence, the French striker will be guaranteed the responsibility to spearhead Solskjaer’s attack up top. However, he can expect to face a physical battle while going up against Brighton’s Lewis Dunk and Shane Duffy in midweek.
Both Odion Ighalo and Mason Greenwood will be available for selection on Solskjaer’s bench.
