Leicester City will entertain Chelsea at the King Power Stadium hoping to return to winning ways in the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon. The Foxes will come into this contest on the back of a 0-0 draw versus Brighton and Hove Albion earlier this week. However, the Blues are in red-hot form at the moment after they defeated Manchester City by a 2-1 scoreline in the Premier League on Thursday night. Therefore, Brendan Rodgers can expect a tough test for his players this weekend.
The East Midlands giants will opt for a 4-1-4-1 formation with both Ayoze Perez and Harvey Barnes expected to return to Rodgers’ starting XI.
4-1-4-1 Leicester City Predicted Lineup To Face Chelsea
Defence
Kasper Schmeichel will lineup in goal for the Foxes after he kept a clean sheet versus the Seagulls in his last league start. Jonny Evans will continue his defensive partnership with Caglar Soyuncu at the heart of the Leicester defence. Both centre-backs will hope to put in a decent display by neutralising the threat of Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud inside their half.
James Justin will be a nailed-on start at right-back in the absence of the injured Ricardo Pereira. Ben Chilwell will feature on the other side as the left-back. Rodgers will instruct both his full-backs to pick and choose their moments to get forward as they can expect to be tested defensively at the back.
Both Wes Morgan and Christian Fuchs will have to settle for a spot on the bench this weekend.
Midfield
Wilfred Ndidi will play as a deep-lying, defensive midfielder as he looks to put a stop to the Chelsea attacks. The dynamic duo of James Maddison and Dennis Praet will operate just ahead of him as the box to box midfielders. Maddison will have to produce a productive performance if the home side are to come away with all three points when the West London giants visit the King Power Stadium on Sunday.
Harvey Barnes could get a chance to impress as the left-winger while Ayoze Perez tries to produce another energetic display down the right flank. Youri Tielemans and Hamza Choudhury will be available for selection on Rodgers’ bench and might come on to make an impact in the second half if required.
Attack
Jamie Vardy will once again get the opportunity to lead the line for Leicester up top. He has not been playing at his best recently, so the English forward will be desperate to find the back of the net versus the Blues this weekend.
Kelechi Iheanacho could come off the bench as an impact substitute if Rodgers decides to call upon his services.
