We all know that Barcelona are ready to go for a complete makeover of their squad and would clear out several players of their current team. If that is the case, they would require reinforcements and capable players to replace the outgoing stars in their team. For this purpose, the Barcelona management is working day and night, often quietly from the attention of others.
The latest news from Tuttomercatoweb suggests that Barcelona Director of Football Eric Abidal has travelled to Moscow to finalise a deal with Lokomotiv Moscow for their star man Aleksey Miranchuk. If this deal goes through, then his name would soon be familiar to the whole of Europe and fans across the world would be able to witness the midfielder’s talent.
24-year old Aleksey Miranchuk started with the Lokomotiv Moscow youth setup and gradually moved into the first team. Being an extremely talented player, Miranchuk made his debut for his club at the age of 17 in 2013 and soon scored his first goal. From then on, his consistent performances have helped the team win the Russian Premier League in 2017-18 as well as three Russian Cup titles.
Miranchuk has so far made 212 appearances for his club scoring 34 goals in all competitions. He has been the mastermind in the midfield for his team, and with his creative streak and agility, he has been the outstanding player in the league for a long time now.
His remarkable performances for his club soon paid him dividends, when he got the call from the national team in 2015. Miranchuk was part of the Russian outfit in the 2018 World Cup, and he played the last group stage match against Uruguay. So far, Miranchuk has appeared 25 times for his nation and scored five times in the process.
Aleksey Miranchuk is an attack-minded player whose speciality is accuracy in shooting from long range. The youngster has an average of 2.6 shots per game, and many of those shots have tested the opposition goalkeeper.
At Barcelona, Miranchuk would be playing with some of the best players in the world and get the kind of exposure that he deserves. Having the likes of Messi and Suarez alongside would undoubtedly make him a better player and if the rumours are to be believed that Barcelona would be bringing in Neymar this season. Although Miranchuk may find it difficult to feature in the team from the very beginning, with time and patience Miranchuk could definitely be a force to reckon with.
