According to a recent report by Chronicle Live, speaking on the Sky Sports Football Show, Paul Merson has urged Newcastle United to target Aston Villa forward Jack Grealish as their first signing, after the prospective takeover that’s currently in the works gets completed. It has been clarified that the deal has been advancing, with the Premier League officials now assessing the credentials of the new chairman. The Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund and Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman will cover most of the investment. At the same time, British financier Amanda Staveley and the Reuben brothers are also involved in the deal.
The report suggests that various high-profile links have come about in recent days, but Paul Merson believes that Jack Grealish should be their number one priority for the summer. Merson said, “You’d have no chance with Kevin De Bruyne or Bruno Fernandes, but I would sign Jack Grealish when I watch Newcastle play, they haven’t got enough brave footballers.
