According to La Razon, Tottenham Hotspur could be on the verge of losing Harry Kane in the summer. And they have already identified a replacement for the English international in the shape of Loren Moron. However, the Real Betis forward has a release clause of €60 million while Spurs could also face stiff competition from Napoli, who are willing to offer €40 million.
Analysing Moron’s success at Real Betis
A product of the Marbella youth academy, Moron, is a late bloomer in many respects. He was still with the Real Betis B side before gaining promotion to the senior team in 2018, at the age of 25. Since then, he has become a pivotal part of the Betis attack, despite scoring just six goals during the 2018/19 campaign.
This season, however, Moron has emerged as one of the best performers in La Liga. He has already netted nine goals in 26 matches, but his overall contribution has been far more significant. The 26-year-old has notably averaged 1.6 shots on goal, half of which have come from inside the box.
Loren’s ability to link up with teammates has made Real Betis the highest-scoring team in the second half of the league table. His combination with Nabil Fekir, in particular, has been promising in an otherwise dire campaign.

Is Moron a viable target for Tottenham?
The idea of Tottenham losing Kane in the summer seems somewhat bizarre. And if they do end up losing the English international, the Lilywhites can undoubtedly do better than Moron as far as signing a direct replacement is concerned.
That being said, Moron could be an ideal signing for Spurs if they are to add a back-up strike for Kane. The Spaniard, as mentioned earlier, is known not only for his scoring prowess. Like a modern forward, he is good with the ball at his feet and can easily link-up with teammates in the final third.
It would make him an ideal secondary striker – something Jose Mourinho has lacked following the injury of Kane this season. Lucas Moura has struggled with the end product while Son Heung-Min is much more effective when deployed out wide.
At the same time, however, Moron’s rather expensive €60 million release clause means he could consume a large chunk of Tottenham’s transfer budget this summer. Hence, it would perhaps be a better idea for Mourinho to shift his attention towards an alternative as he looks to usher in a new era in north London next season.
