Rangers were embarrassed by Hamilton at Ibrox in a midweek game which all but ends any faint hopes of them winning the title. The Bears now trail Celtic by 13 points, and many would be happy to see Rangers keeping a single-digit deficit to their rivals at the top of the table when the season ends.
Gerrard will need to decide on how he wants to react to the recent underperformances when they take on Ross County. Rangers have managed two wins against them this season as they have won by 4-0 and 2-0. However, Ross County might smell blood given Rangers’ recent loss of form.
Team News: Centre back Filip Helander is close to returning to training after he has missed games since December. However, he is unlikely to feature for a few more weeks. Scott Arfield is a significant doubt for this clash after he missed the Hamilton game as well. Matt Polster is closing in on a return.
4-3-3 Rangers Predicted Lineup Vs Ross County
Formation (4-3-3)
Defence
Allan McGregor is set to keep his place in goal for the Gers. Borna Barisic seems to be the only nailed on starter in the back four at the moment, and he will start at left-back. George Edmundson is expected to keep his place in defence. Connor Goldson has come under the scanner for his recent performances, but Nikola Katic has also been poor since the break.
Hence, Goldson might be able to keep his place at centre back. James Tavernier is also expected to retain his spot at right-back with Polster just returning to training. Jon Flanagan hasn’t been involved in the matchday squad for some time now, so he is also unlikely to start.
Midfield
Steven Davis might take up the role of the defensive midfielder. Ryan Jack was only fit enough to be on the bench against Hamilton, but he didn’t play a single minute. He is expected to start against Ross County. Joe Aribo is likely to complete the midfield three for the Bears.
Attack
Ianis Hagi has been one of the few bright sparks in the second half of the season, and he should keep his place on the right-wing. Ryan Kent might return to the lineup after he was dropped for Florian Kamberi recently. The English winger could start on the left flank. Gerrard now has three strikers available to him. Alfredo Morelos is likely to lead the line for the Bears.
