Premier League giants Chelsea picked up the vital three points in the league today after beating Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton side by a dominant 4-0 scoreline. The London side took control of proceedings right from the off, and there wasn’t a single point in the tie where the Everton attackers enjoyed a sustained spell of possession. Ross Barkley picked up two assists against his former club as goals from Willian, Pedro, Mason Mount and Olivier Giroud handed the Blues a temporary five point cushion in 4th place.
Chelsea Players Rated In Convincing Victory Vs Everton
Kepa Arrizabalaga – 7
The Spaniard was brought back into the starting lineup by Lampard today, and he had an extremely comfortable afternoon between the sticks. Only had one Everton shot to deal with all game.
Cesar Azpilicueta – 7
Wasn’t required to get forward as much as he usually does because of the brilliant football being displayed by the Chelsea midfielders and attackers. Passed it around well all through the fixture.
Antonio Rudiger – 7.5
The German international showed himself in an extremely good light today and was a nuisance while attacking set-pieces as well. Worked hard and looked a cut above the rest of the Blues’ defenders.
Kurt Zouma – 7
The Frenchman had a couple of questionable moments in the opening exchanges of the game, but slowly settled into his role alongside Rudiger, and looked comfortable enough.
Marcos Alonso – 8
Not quite the usual bombarding Alonso performance, largely because the rest of the Chelsea team stepped up to the plate for once. Linked up superbly with Willian and Pedro down that flank.
Ross Barkley – 9
The Liverpudlian started the game looking like a man on a mission, and he kept up the enthusiasm and energy levels right until the end. Picked up two impressive assists on the night as well.
Billy Gilmour – 9
The youngster has been the talk of the town around Stamford Bridge for a while now, and he’s proven why once again tonight. Some neat touches as well as excellent passing in the midfield from the teenager.
Mason Mount – 8.5
The youngster scored a beauty of a goal in the first half to open the scoring for the Blues, as his smart turn and finish caught Jordan Pickford out on his near post. Made some dangerous forward runs too.
Willian – 8.5
The Brazilian seemed to complete most of the take-ons he attempted today and looked like a constant threat. Got himself on the scoresheet with a quite sublime goal from outside the box.
Olivier Giroud – 7.5
The Frenchman was very much the target man on the night, as he linked up Chelsea’s attacking play superbly. Scored a good goal by showcasing excellent awareness in the opposition box.
Pedro – 8.5
The Spaniard made a brilliant run to split the Everton defence in half in the lead up to his goal. Played a smart pass to Mount for the opener, and looks like a player reborn.
