According to The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs interested in the services of Serhou Guirassy. The Amiens forward has attracted a lot of interest with his performances in Ligue 1, with West Ham and Brighton & Hove Albion also keen on securing his services in the summer. However, the Hammers are believed to be leading the chase for Guirassy, who is expected to cost around £20 million.
Who is Serhou Guirassy?
Guirassy initially joined Amiens last summer in a €6 million move from 1.FC Koln. The Frenchman struggled in his spell in the Bundesliga as Koln, instead, brought in Anthony Modeste in 2018 while Jhon Cordoba also gradually improved.
In his return to France, Guirassy has been able to rediscover his scoring form. He has netted eight goals in 21 matches in the league this season. Even though that hasn’t stopped Amiens from dawdling at the bottom end of the table, he has been one of the bright spots in an otherwise dire campaign for the French club so far.
Standing at 1.87m, Guirassy is primarily known for his physical prowess. He is capable of keeping hold of the ball, though his first touch can often be disappointing. He has lost possession 73 times due to unsuccessful touches this season.
But, the 23-year-old has attained excellent numbers when it comes to aerial duels. Thanks to his height, he has won 90 headed duels, which is among the best in the league. Guirassy has also averaged almost two shots per game, which is around 20% of what Amiens have averaged as a whole this season.

Is Guirassy a viable target for Spurs?
Tottenham Hotspur are in desperate need of a new attacker in the summer if they are to resolve their offensive woes next season. The Lilywhites basically have no viable alternative for the primary centre forward Harry Kane, whose injury, just like last season, has seen them struggle in front of goal.
Guirassy, in that regard, should be an ideal target for Tottenham. As mentioned earlier, the Frenchman has found his rhythm after returning to Ligue 1 last summer. He has also found the back of the net eight times this season and could, therefore, be an excellent alternative for Kane.
However, what really makes Guirassy such an appealing option for Jose Mourinho is that he could add another dimension to the Spurs’ offensive department. Indeed, his aerial and physical prowess means he can be utilised as a target man.
It would essentially allow the Tottenham manager to evolve his plan B, which is whipping crosses into the box in a more straightforward attacking approach, around Guirassy. The Frenchman can also be deployed alongside Kane in a two-man offensive unit, thus making the Lilywhites much more threatening and effective in the final third.
