Celtic have hit the ground running since the winter break as they have now opened up a 10 point gap on the top of the table having played a game more over second-placed Rangers. The Hoops will travel to the Pittodrie to take on Aberdeen tomorrow.
Aberdeen away can be considered as one of the toughest fixtures in the Premiership, and if Lennon’s men can gather another three points here, then that would consolidate their position on the top of the table. Celtic managed a narrow 2-1 win when they faced the Dons in December at Celtic Park. The Bhoys look impeccable at the moment, and they should be high on confidence going in this game.
Team News: Lennon’s injury issues have eased out a bit. Michael Johnston is a long term absentee at the moment. Summer signings Hatem Abd Elhamed and Jeremie Frimpong are currently on the treatment table. Nir Bitton is also expected to miss out.
3-5-2 Celtic Predicted Lineup Vs Aberdeen
Formation (3-5-2)
Defence
Fraser Forster is going to keep his place in between the sticks. The back three has given good results for Lennon, and he is likely to persist with it even in this fixture. Kristoffer Ajer will start on the right of the three in defence. Jozo Simunovic could occupy the central defensive role. Christopher Jullien will feature as the left-sided centre back.
Midfield
Greg Taylor could continue in the left wing-back role. Jonny Hayes might feature on the bench. Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo has fallen behind in the pecking order, and he has found it hard to even get in the matchday squad since the break. Scott Brown and Callum McGregor are likely to occupy the central midfield role.
Ryan Christie will also start in the middle, but he will be in a more attacking role. James Forrest has to do a decent amount of defensive work as the wing-back, but he has continued to perform well in that role. The Scotsman will feature in the right wing-back position.
Attack
Leigh Griffiths has managed to turn the tide since the winter break, and he hasn’t allowed new signing Patryk Klimala to get a nod in the first team. Maybe Griffiths needed that extra bit of motivation. He will start up front alongside league’s top scorer Odsonne Edouard. The Frenchman has been breathtaking with some of his performances and Aberdeen will need to be at their best to stop the Celtic star.
