Spanish La Liga front-runners Real Madrid picked up what was their fifteenth win of the league season after successfully manoeuvring the challenge put forth by a well-supported and properly drilled Osasuna side. Los Blancos went down to an early home goal in the first half but needed less than half an hour from that point to turn things around. A further couple of goals in the latter stages of the game ensured that the Galacticos took home all three points on the night.
Real Madrid Players Rated In Comfortable Victory Vs Osasuna
Thibaut Courtois – 7
The Belgian shot-stopper had an excellent game between the sticks for the men in white as he looked supremely composed on the ball. Made some key saves along the way to limit Osasuna to just one goal.
Daniel Carvajal – 7.5
The full-back delivered a couple of sensational balls into the box in the first half and was a constant nuisance for his opposite number tonight. Got into some really dangerous positions.
Sergio Ramos – 8
The Spanish skipper stepped up to the plate when his club needed him the most yet again. Positioned himself exceptionally well to head home, and defended quite strongly too.
Raphael Varane – 7.5
The Frenchman was a dominant figure in the air against Osasuna, and he went on to make a couple of vital interceptions over the course of the ninety as well. Never looked flustered in his role.
Ferland Mendy – 7.5
The left-back had a continued barrage of forward charges down the flank all through the first half, as the movement of Isco in front of him opened up inexplicably large spaces for him to run into.
Luka Modric – 7.5
The Croatian international displayed impeccable work-rate tonight as he ensured that the ball kept moving, even in the late stages of the game. Picked up two brilliant late assists.
Casemiro – 7.5
The Brazilian did an excellent job in the middle of the park, despite not getting off to the most fluent start. Got a vital touch in the lead-up to the Sergio Ramos strike as well.
Federico Valverde – 6.5
The youngster wasn’t at the top of his game, as he struggled to control any of the forward movement that this Los Blancos side produced. Played some neat passes out though.
Gareth Bale – 4
The Welshman continues to suffer in a Real Madrid jersey as he put up what was undoubtedly one of his worst ever displays. Missed a sitter in the first half and deserved to be substituted.
Karim Benzema – 6.5
The Frenchman wasn’t able to impact the tie quite as much as he might’ve hoped, but still worked tirelessly off the ball. Made a smart pass to gift Lucas Vazquez his goal on the night.
Isco – 9
The Spaniard was the best player on the pitch throughout the ninety, as his passing and movement in the final third of the park were too much for the tiring Osasuna defenders to deal with on the night.
