Rangers will undoubtedly be deflated after the latest round of fixtures where they lost to Kilmarnock. Celtic made light work of Hearts in the other game and the Gers are now 10 points behind their arch-rival in the title race. Gerrard will have to pick his men up to keep the slim chances of winning the title alive as the Bears host Livingston at Ibrox this Saturday.
The Lions have hit a good run of form as they have won four of their last five games in the league. They currently occupy the fifth spot and will certainly look to exploit the weakness of this Rangers team. Gerrard’s men had managed a 2-0 win when they met Livingston last year in November.
Team News: Filip Helander is still on the treatment table as he is expected to be available somewhere next month. Borna Barisic is doubtful, and even if he is fit, we think that Gerrard might not risk him with a crucial tie against Braga in the Europa League looming large. Jermain Defoe is set to miss out.
4-3-3 Rangers Predicted Lineup Vs Livingston
Formation (4-3-3)
Defence
Allan McGregor didn’t get to do too much in goal, but he was still beaten twice against Kilmarnock. He is expected to keep his place in between the sticks. Andy Halliday put in a steady performance against Kilmarnock, and he will be expected to start again at left-back. George Edmundson should be in contention to start in defence. It remains to be seen in whose place he might get the nod.
Nikola Katic would be the obvious pick, but Connor Goldson’s position might also be on the chopping block. We are going in with the centre back partnership of Goldson and Edmundson. James Tavernier will be in his typical right-back slot.
Midfield
Steven Davis might return to the lineup to start in a deeper role in midfield. Scott Arfield has been the most in-form player for Rangers since the break, and he is expected to keep his place in the middle. Glen Kamara could start in place of Ryan Jack.
Attack
Ianis Hagi could get the nod to play on the right flank where he will do the job of an attacking midfielder. Ryan Kent is yet to fulfil his potential this season, but the manager might persist with him on the left-wing. Alfredo Morelos has failed to hit the form which he showed before the break. Gerrard would hope that the Colombian gets back to his best soon. He will lead the line.
