Super agent Mino Raiola has hinted that clubs like Juventus and others should dream about a move for Paul Pogba. Real Madrid have also been linked heavily with the French midfielder. Pogba had revealed in the summer of 2019 that he was looking for a new challenge, but Manchester United kept hold of him. Manchester United are likely (The Express) to face an uphill task to keep hold of Pogba in the summer if they miss out on Champions League spot.
Raiola comments on Pogba’s transfer speculations
Raiola recently said, ”Juventus fans should dream, like those around the world, because if you don’t dream, you’re dead. (When asked about Pogba leaving) I don’t work in dreams, but I try to make the right choices at the right time with my players to advance their career. Now to say that Pogba leaves Manchester United to go to Juventus to Real or Barcelona is not the right time.”
With the January transfer window still open, Raiola decided not to comment on Pogba’s future. Still, he did take the name of Real Madrid as a possible destination for the midfielder. The midfielder could unite with his countryman Zinedine Zidane in the summer, and that would be considered as a significant coup for Los Blancos.
Real Madrid are currently in a tight title race with Barcelona. The Galacticos failed to win any trophy last season, and the club spent big money in the summer to reinforce the squad. However, Real Madrid still needs to keep an eye on replacements for quite a few of their players.
Why Real Madrid need Pogba?
Luka Modric and Toni Kroos aren’t getting younger. The likes of James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale are also consistently linked with a move away. Hence, the club would need a creative outlet and a player like Pogba could come in handy.
The midfielder has blown hot and cold at Manchester United over the last few years, and he has his fair share of critics. However, on his day, the World Cup winner can be unplayable, and he has shown his class from time to time. His passing range and physicality would add the much-needed strength to Real Madrid’s midfield. A partnership of Valverde, Casemiro and Pogba could be ideal in the future with the French star donning the hat of the chief playmaker.
The lesser intensity of the La Liga should suit the midfielder further, and the 26-year-old could be a top signing as he is still in his prime. There is no doubt that Pogba would cost a bomb, but if there is any club that could sign him still then that is Real Madrid.
