According to the reports from Football Italia, AC Milan’s winger Suso has reportedly put in a transfer request. It is believed that Milan are happy to oblige and are willing to sell the winger for the right price. The fallen Italian giants don’t want to sell below €25m. Reports in October from the Daily Mail had emerged that West Ham United were one of the interested parties. Now with the player putting in a transfer request, the Hammers can move in for him.
However, the latest report mentions that Sevilla and Roma are the favourites to land the winger. Suso has fallen down the pecking order at AC Milan since the change in the system at Milan. The five times Spanish international has still played a decent role for his side as he has started in 15 games in the Serie A this season.
The 26-year-old even has previous experience of the Premier League as he had made 21 appearances for Liverpool. However, the winger failed to establish himself for the Reds, and he joined AC Milan in 2015. Since then the winger has emerged as a crucial player for the Rossoneri, but it seems like he has fallen out of favour now.
Suso has managed one goal and two assists so far this season, so he hasn’t been in the best of form. The Hammers have endured a rocky season so far after an initial hope of a season that would not be mediocre. David Moyes is back as a caretaker manager at the club, and it seems like the club is just going around in circles instead of progressing.
Should West Ham United target Suso?
Suso is primarily a right-winger, but he can play as an attacking midfielder as well. The Hammers currently have three options on the right-hand side in Andriy Yarmolenko, Michail Antonio and Robert Snodgrass. However, all of them are in their early thirties or late twenties. Also, barring Antonio, none of the three has managed to have a significant impact in the attacking half of the pitch.
The Spaniard is in his prime, and we believe that he could be a decent pick for €25m. Suso showcases impressive close-quarter control, and he has sublime dribbling skills which allow him to go past players. The winger is also known as a hard worker off the ball, and that should make him a good fit for West Ham.
Moreover, Suso must be aware of what he would get in the Premier League with his previous experience with Liverpool. Hence, after the latest reports of the winger handing in a transfer request, West Ham United should look to bring him to London in this window.
