Real Madrid will play hosts to Sevilla at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on Saturday hoping to put the pressure on the La Liga leaders Barcelona by claiming maximum points at home. The Galacticos have a lot of injury concerns so they might find it difficult to emerge victorious versus Julen Lopetegui’s players this weekend.
Zinedine Zidane will opt for a 4-3-2-1 formation and will be forced to make at least one change to his first-team for this clash at the Spanish capital as Federico Valverde has to serve out a one-game suspension.
4-3-2-1 Real Madrid Predicted Lineup To Face Sevilla
Defence
Thibaut Courtois will retain his place in between the sticks for the Galacticos after his match-winning heroics in the derby win over Atletico Madrid last weekend. Sergio Ramos will continue to partner Raphael Varane at the centre of the Real Madrid backline. However, they might find it tricky to secure a clean sheet against Sevilla on Saturday.
Dani Carvajal will operate as the right-back while Ferland Mendy gets the nod to line up on the other side in the left-back position. Both full-backs will be instructed to join in on the attack as much as they can so that Los Blancos can push up in search of the three points this weekend.
Midfield
Federico Valverde is suspended for this encounter after he picked a red card during the 2020 Spanish Supercup Final victory over Diego Simeone’s men earlier this month. Hence, Zidane will be forced to bring back James Rodriguez into his starting XI. The Colombian playmaker will focus on interchanging passes with Casemiro and Toni Kroos at the centre of the park.
Attack
Luka Modric and Isco will operate behind Luka Jovic who will once again lead the charge up top. All three players have to find a way to make a breakthrough, but it won’t be easy as Sevilla have conceded just 18 goals in 19 league matches thus far.
Zidane has a whole host of injury concerns up top with the likes of Eden Hazard, Marco Asensio and Karim Benzema expected to be sidelined due to injury. Gareth Bale might also miss out on this game because of illness.
