According to a recent report by French news outlet L’Equipe, Premier League high-flyers Wolverhampton Wanderers are said to be close to sealing a loan move for the services of out-of-favour French midfield starlet Enzo Loiodice, in a deal that would include an option for Nuno Espírito Santo to buy him permanently at the end of the season. It has been claimed that he would join the U23s to start with, before slowly being worked into the first-team.
It has been suggested in the report that Wolves have been in talks about this transfer for most of the month and that they’re keen on adding more talented players into their development setup, considering that they find themselves bottom of their Premier League 2 division.
They also permitted the loan transfer of midfield star Elliott Watt to Carlisle United earlier in the month, adding the further need for the Wolves staff to sign another midfielder before the transfer window closes.
How Did Enzo Loiodice Make A Name For Himself In Ligue 1?
The 19-year-old was born in the French capital city of Paris and began his playing career at some local Parisian clubs. Eventually, though, the youngster made the 300-kilometre journey to join the Dijon academy in 2015. After a few years of tireless work, he finally broke into the first-team of the Ligue 1 side in the summer of 2018 and had a pretty important part to play over the course of last season.
The youngster has always been extremely highly rated for his passing and movement in the middle of the park and does fit into the brand of players that Nuno has been targeting over the last few years. He has featured just five times for the Ligue 1 side this term, further emphasising the need for the Frenchman to make a move away. The 19-year-old’s best position is in the slot just in front of the centre-halves, where he has the freedom to dictate the tempo of the game.
Although he’s only ever played for Dijon in his entire career, the quality that he displays while on the pitch is undeniable. The youngster has featured a total of 24 times for the Ligue 1 side throughout the one and a half year first-team career, while he’s even managed to bag an assist from the deep position that he operates out of. With strong positioning skills as well as excellent physical attributes, the Frenchman could even turn out to be custom-made for Premier League football.
Why Wolves Must Sign Enzo Loiodice In The Summer?
In just under two years, Wolves have been transformed from a Championship club, into one that is fighting for European football in the Premier League in January. With so much at stake with every fixture that goes on at the Molineux, Nuno will surely be happy to add any possible reinforcements to his side in January. Considering that the move is for a talented midfielder like Loiodice, it just makes the situation that much sweeter for Wolverhampton Wanderers fans.
