According to a recent report by The Daily Mirror, Manchester United have made an attractive offer, which could rise above the £12.5m mark, to secure the signature of Birmingham City wonderboy Jude Bellingham. The same source has also claimed that the Red Devils are currently leading the chase to land the young English midfielder who is presently quite happy playing for his boyhood club at St. Andrews’s.
Bellingham’s Incredible Rise At Birmingham This Season
The Championship prospect came through the youth ranks of the West Midlands club before making his Blues debut aged just 16 years and 38 days’ old earlier this season. Despite his inexperience, he has managed to put in a run of impressive performances for Pep Clotet’s side in the English second division.
Bellingham has made 24 appearances for the Blues this term, scoring three goals while creating one assist on all fronts. He has averaged 2.2 tackles, 0.8 interceptions, 1.1 clearances, 1.1 shots, 0.6 key passes and 1.0 dribbles per game in the EFL Championship (stats via whoscored).
The 16-year-old has also represented England at various youth levels and is currently an influential member of the Three Lions’ Under-17 side. He has scored two goals in three matches for them thus far.
What Makes The English Youngster Such An Exciting Talent?
Bellingham is highly rated in English football as he has shown tremendous maturity to breakout as a first-team starter for his hometown club, Birmingham City. He enjoys playing in a box to box role in midfield and seems to be getting better with each game. The Stourbridge-born whizkid is not shy of getting stuck in with a few tackles to try and win possession back for his team. He can mop up well at the back by making some vital clearances for his side.
Is Bellingham A Star In The Making?
Bellingham has also scored a few vital goals for his side and has gradually transformed himself into a decent playmaker for the Blues this season. He has the potential to become a future star in England and so Man United will do well to snap him up before any of Europe’s top clubs pounce on his signature in the coming years.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to build for the future and so recruiting a promising youngster like Bellingham could be a massive coup for the Norwegian head coach. The Birmingham midfield ace’s ceiling is sky-high and is undeniably a prospect to look out for in the future.
