According to a recent exclusive report by CaughtOffside, Premier League legend Alan Hudson has urged former club Chelsea to make a move for Aston Villa starlet Jack Grealish at the earliest possible opportunity. The veteran midfielder went on to say that Chelsea lack a player who can run through midfield and score a goal and that Grealish would be the answer to the gaping hole left by the summer departure of Belgian superstar Eden Hazard.
The report suggests that Hudson is a massive follower of the young Englishman’s progress, and he went on to claim that Grealish is “the most outstanding attacking midfield player in the game at the moment.” The former Chelsea and Arsenal player then said that Frank Lampard is the right appointment for Chelsea and that all he needs now is an experienced head in the backroom to depend on when things aren’t going his way.
What Will Jack Grealish Add To This Chelsea Team?
The 24-year-old is a product of the Aston Villa academy and has developed into quite the player since his return from a loan spell at Notts County back in 2014. Now a regular in Dean Smith’s side, the aspiring Englishman has even gone on to pick up the captain’s armband along the way and is now the outright skipper of the team.
The youngster tends to be an excellent voice and leader in the middle of the park, and the quality he adds to the side is a whole other conversation.
Adept at carrying the ball, the Villa graduate displays massive amounts of confidence as well as finesse in possession. He isn’t afraid to take a man on but has the technical ability he needs to get out of tight situations singlehandedly.
Most attractive for Chelsea though would be the fact that the Englishman can drive in through the heart of the opposition defence and find the top corner from any position. With seven goals and five assists from his 22 league games this term, Grealish continues to be one of the most exciting talents in England at this time.
Why The Blues Must Sign Grealish At The Earliest?
The rate at which the youngster is developing is sure to be attracting interest from a variety of suitors, and the Blues will do well to beat out the competition to his signature. Chelsea have lacked a consistent midfield scorer all through the season, and that has to be credited to the departure of Eden Hazard. Although Christian Pulisic and Mason Mount both started the campaign in promising fashions, the goals seem to have dried up on their end as well.
Grealish has been proving with his goals in the Premier League that he has what it takes to move into the next level. The Blues are currently in fourth place in the Premier League and have looked pretty secure in their position so far, owing mostly to the generosity of the chasing pack below. Despite this, Lampard will be confident of achieving top four at the end of the season. As a regular Champions League club, the gaffer will be in a better position to land a player like Grealish in the summer, especially with Blues legend John Terry one of the assistants at Villa Park.
