Manchester City will look to cement their spot in the final of the Carabao Cup when they take on Manchester United at the Etihad in the second leg of the semi-finals. City are carrying a 3-1 advantage from the first leg, and they would be favourites to turn United over after the defending champions thoroughly outplayed them in the first leg.
Both teams are coming in this game on the back of an easy win in the FA Cup. United will look to put up a much stern challenge against their derby rivals after they were lucky to just come away with a 3-1 defeat from the first leg. However, United have continued to blow cold this season for most parts. City will be the clear favourites to win this tie and book a place in another Carabao Cup final.
Team News: Joao Cancelo went off with an injury against Fulham, and he is doubtful for this encounter. Riyad Mahrez also had an injury scare, but his injury doesn’t seem to be too serious. Leroy Sane is expected to come back somewhere in the next month after his lengthy injury spell.
4-3-3 Manchester City Predicted Lineup Vs Manchester United
Formation (4-3-3)
Defence
Claudio Bravo is expected to start in goal given that he is the preferred option in the cup games. John Stones is likely to come back to the lineup and begin in defence for this game after he sat out the FA Cup clash. He is expected to be partnered by Aymeric Laporte who has looked good after his comeback. Kyle Walker is likely to feature from the right side of the defence. Benjamin Mendy is expected to begin in his usual left-back role after finding some good form of late.
Midfield
Rodri will be expected to start in his usual defensive midfield slot. Kevin De Bruyne has been unstoppable on some occasions this season, and he would feature in this tie in midfield. Ilkay Gundogan might complete the midfield three for Guardiola.
Attack
Raheem Sterling has been out of form, and he would look to get back to his best. The Englishman should start on the left-wing. Bernardo Silva could have the chance to feature from the right flank with Mahrez taking a knock in the weekend clash. Gabriel Jesus played the full 90 minutes against the Cottagers and hence, he could be given a breather. That means City’s superstar Sergio Aguero would be leading the line against United.
