Norwich City’s latest defeat against Southampton was a hammer blow for them as the Saints are their closest rival in the bottom half of the table. The Canaries are in desperate need of points to stay afloat in the Premier League, and they will host Sheffield United at Carrow Road this weekend.
The Blades have built their team on the back of a strong defensive unit, and that has paid rich dividends for Chris Wilder so far. However, his team are coming on the back of a 2-0 defeat against Newcastle United. Norwich are currently four points of the 17th spot, and they would surely need to pick something from this game to stay within touching distance of Southampton. There is nothing to choose between the two sides if we look at their last five meetings as Norwich have won 2, lost two and drawn the other one.
Team News: Daniel Farke’s side had been troubled with injuries, but quite a few players are now fit and available. The likes of Klose, Hanley, Drmic are still unavailable due to injury, but the situation has undoubtedly improved in the last few weeks.
Norwich City Predicted Lineup Vs Sheffield United
Formation (4-2-3-1)
Defence
Tim Krul has been instrumental in goal for the Canaries, and he will start in between the sticks again. Ben Godfrey will begin in the centre back role. He should be partnered by Christoph Zimmermann at the back. Max Aarons will occupy the right-back slot. Jamal Lewis could get the nod to start at left-back instead of Sam Byram.
Midfield
The experienced Alexander Tettey is now available, and he could get the chance to feature in midfield. Norwich have been leaking goals so far, and Farke will hope that Tettey will be able to tighten things up by shielding the back four. Marco Stiepermann could partner him in central midfield.
Todd Cantwell has shown his composure in front of goal, and he occupies dangerous positions in the attacking areas. He is expected to begin from the right flank. Former Aberdeen midfielder Kenny McLean is likely going to occupy the attacking midfield position. Onel Hernández can produce a moment of magic and Farke will be hoping that he can come up with end product against the Blades. He will be expected to start from the left-wing.
Attack
Teemu Pukki has been the mainstay for his side upfront, and he will once again lead the line.
