Liverpool continued with their winning ways as they made light work of Bournemouth at the Vitality stadium. The Reds ensured a comfortable 3-0 victory even in the absence of Mane.
The game took some time to get to life, but Liverpool managed to change the gears around the half-hour mark. Oxlade-Chamberlain opened the scoring after Henderson picked him out with a long pass. Salah then turned the provider for Liverpool’s second as his clever backheel found Naby Keita who finished well. Liverpool went in at half-time with a 2-0 lead.
Salah then added more comfort to the lead as Keita assisted him with a brilliant through pass in the second half. The Cherries hardly offered any resistance and Liverpool were thoroughly dominant in their display.
Here is how Klopp’s men’s fared in their comfortable win over Bournemouth.
Alisson 6
Bournemouth failed to have a shot on target. His distribution was decent. Finally got a clean sheet.
Joe Gomez 7
Read the dangers well when he was shifted at centre back after Lovren’s departure. Looked alright even while he played as the right back.
Dejan Lovren 6
Didn’t have much trouble but had to go off with a slight niggle in the first half.
Virgil Van Dijk 8
Nothing went past him as he was at his best again. Won plenty of duels and didn’t break a sweat. Calm as ever with the ball at his feet.
Andy Robertson 6.5
As always, looked to bomb forward at every opportunity. Linked up play well. Wasn’t tested much defensively.
James Milner 7
Always looking to get on the ball and provided an option for a pass. Covered every blade of grass and just did the typical Milner things.
Jordan Henderson 8
A midfield master class from the captain as he sprayed passes for fun. His pass from his own half to find Chamberlain for the first goal was majestic. Won a lot of 50-50 duels, made interceptions and pressed well like always.
Naby Keita 7.5
Got his chances after a long time and grabbed it with both hands. Just seems to have that cutting edge while going forward. Got in the box to score the first goal then played an eye of the needle pass to find Salah for Liverpool’s third. Gave the ball away one or two times but did well.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain 6.5
Found it hard to get into the game much but always a willing runner and looked confident on the ball. Took his goal well as he timed his run to perfection and finished nicely.
Mohamed Salah 8
Looked sharp and his first touch was on point. Brilliant awareness to assist the goal for Naby Keita. Always looking to stretch play and make runs from the shoulder of the defenders. Was composed with his finish for the third goal and finally looked impressive after some below-par displays.
Roberto Firmino 6
The Brazilian had a quiet game as he failed to pull strings much. Had a few good moments in the attacking third though.
Substitutes
Trent Alexander-Arnold 7
Looked at ease while going forward and linked up play well from the right. Liverpool looked far more lively as soon as he occupied the right-back spot. Played a role in the second goal.
Curtis Jones N/A
Made his Premier League debut and got a late run into the team
Xherdan Shaqiri N/A
Didn’t play enough to warrant a rating.
