Barcelona travelled to the San Siro to take on Inter Milan earlier tonight having already booked a place in the next round of the UEFA Champions League. The Catalans dominated the ball in the first half and managed to get themselves ahead in the 23rd minute courtesy of Carles Perez’s finish from close range. Romelu Lukaku equalised for Inter just before half-time when he scored with a powerful strike from just outside the box.

The second half was more of the same with the Italian side pushing on in search of the winner. However, Ernesto Valverde’s men left the San Siro crowd stunned when Ansu Fati came off the bench to net the winning goal in the 86th minute. The contest ended with Barca coming away with a hard-fought 2-1 win from Milan.

Let’s take a look at how each Barcelona player fared during the encounter versus Inter Milan.

GK: Neto – 7.5/10

The Barca goalie made some crucial stops and did well to restrict the opposition from scoring more than once tonight.

CB: Jean-Clair Todibo – 7/10

He operated in the right-hand side of the back three and defended valiantly to help his team get the win.

CB: Samuel Umtiti – 6/10

The French defender struggled to deal with Romelu Lukaku’s pace and power and was at fault for conceding in the first half. However, he came out and put in a better shift in the second 45.

CB: Clement Lenglet – 6.5/10

He looked comfortable when in possession of the ball and made a vital block to deny Lukaku another goal. Lenglet was guilty of missing a glorious chance at the other end.

CDM: Ivan Rakitic – 7/10

The Croatia international adjusted into the defensive midfield position quite well and did his best to disrupt the rhythm of the Inter attackers. However, he was subbed after the hour mark.

RM: Moussa Wagué – 7/10

The youngster put in an impressive display during the game. He was a decent outlet for Barca down the right flank.

CM: Arturo Vidal – 6/10

The Chilean playmaker was a powerful presence in midfield. He was not afraid to fight for every loose ball at the centre of the park. However, his performance levels faded as the game progressed in the second half.

CM: Carlos Aleñá – 7/10

He looked bright and vibrant in the opposition half and deserved a solid 7 for his efforts. Alena was probably Barca’s most creative player on the field tonight.

LM: Júnior Firpo – 5/10

He found life difficult down the left-wing and was defensively exposed quite a few times throughout the 90 minutes.

ST: Carles Pérez – 7.5/10

The youngster kept his composure to score the opening goal of the contest. He looked sharp and confident up top.

ST: Antoine Griezmann – 6/10

The France international created a couple of decent opportunities for his teammates. However, he was unfortunate not to have scored tonight.

CM: Frenkie de Jong – 7/10

The Dutch midfielder bossed the game after replacing Rakitic in the second half.

ST: Luis Suarez – 6/10

The Uruguayan striker struggled to make an impact after coming off the bench. However, it was his pass that led to the winning goal from Ansu Fati.

ST: Ansu Fati – 7/10

He came on to score the winning goal for his team. Valverde can’t ask any more from him than that.
