According to a recent report by the Independent, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp recently said at a media gathering that the likelihood that the transfer rumours surrounding Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho developed from his Liverpool camp was extremely bleak. Although the German admitted that the former Manchester City product is a ‘very good player’, he went on to claim that he didn’t know where these rumours were coming from.
He further went on to comment on the matter and say that if they were involved in talks with the Englishman, nobody would still know as it would be done behind-the-scenes. He dismissed all speculation when he concluded by claiming that there was absolutely nothing to say about it. The report suggests that the manager had previously voiced his appreciation for the Englishman’s talents back when he was still at Manchester City, despite the fact that City would never sell him to one of their title rivals, Liverpool.
How Did Jadon Sancho Make A Name For Himself?
Sancho is a 19-year-old English international winger who currently plies his trade for Borussia Dortmund in the German Bundesliga. The youngster came through the Watford and then Man City youth academies, before breaking into the reserve setup. Although he looked miles ahead in terms of quality when compared to all his peers, City didn’t give him a first-team opportunity he deserved – obviously due to their squad limitations.
He had plenty of offers from other English clubs but was forced to go to Germany because of Manchester City’s reluctance to sell him to one of their rivals. Since joining the Signal Iduna Park club though, there’s been no stopping the Englishman. He’s gone from strength to strength and is one of the most important players at Dortmund despite falling out of favour with the club in recent weeks. The youngster has produced an excellent return of 21 goals and 32 assists from 74 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit.
How Would Recruiting Jadon Sancho Benefit This Liverpool Team?
Jurgen Klopp’s attacking philosophy revolves quite a lot around bringing the best out each individual in the team. The likes of Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino are being played to their strengths by the German tactician, and they have prospered in their respective roles. Jadon Sancho is undoubtedly one of the most intimidating players to defend against already, and with guidance from Jurgen Klopp, he could become unstoppable.
Also, in the absence of players like Mohamad Salah due to injury, the Reds have struggled to attack with the same level of conviction. Although Divock Origi and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are good options off the bench, depending on them to consistently deliver the goods could prove to be a massive blunder. It is another area where Sancho would have an advantage over others because of the sheer amount of footballing talent he possesses.
Why Liverpool Must Move In For Sancho This Winter.
Jurgen Klopp has one of the best teams in the league, but as can be seen from their recent matches against Chelsea, Brighton and Hove Albion and even Aston Villa, it’s apparent that they’re not playing at their best. The addition of a pacy winger like Sancho would allow the German manager to mix things up in the forward line, especially because the Reds are set to compete across five different competitions in the coming weeks.
