Nuno Espirito Santo’s high-flying Wolverhampton Wanderers side extended their unbeaten streak in the league to eleven games on the trot, as they played out a feisty 2-2 draw against Brighton and Hove Albion. Graham Potter’s men were coming into this fixture on the back of a spirited victory against Arsenal but were unable to replicate the same on the night. A first-half double from Diogo Jota cancelled out the two Brighton goals as the teams correctly shared the points.
Here Are The Wolves Player Ratings:
Rui Patricio – 6
Didn’t look overly comfortable in between the sticks tonight as he did get caught out of position a couple of times. Couldn’t have done much about the Brighton goals on the night though.
Leander Dendoncker – 6.5
The centre-half didn’t have the greatest of outings as he was given a proper run around by Neal Maupay in the first half. Came back and did a better job in the second though.
Conor Coady – 7
Despite the height that Brighton possess in the box, Coady won most of the headers that came his way, and commandeered the back-line well too, barring a small phase in the first half.
Romain Saïss – 6.5
Like his defensive partners, the versatile star was given a tough time by Trossard and Maupay in the first half, but the Wolves ace reacted well to put in a spirited display in the second period.
Matt Doherty – 6.5
The speedster was far from his best on the night as he had multiple clear opportunities to score or play someone through. Made some excellent dashes into space though.
Joao Moutinho – 7
The Portuguese veteran’s experience and sheer technical know-how went a long way for Nuno’s side tonight, as he controlled the movement of the ball from the heart of midfield.
Ruben Neves – 7.5
The young midfield maestro had a thumping shot fired just wide in the first half, but he did well circulating the ball. Took some excellent touches in the middle of the park as Wolves began to dominate.
Jonny Otto – 6.5
The Spaniard didn’t have the most efficient outing at the Amex Stadium but still came away with an assist to his name. He defended well over the tie, but couldn’t get forward effectively.
Adama Traore – 7
The speedy winger has indeed shown massive signs of maturity over the last few weeks but still remains an unpolished gem. He gave Dan Burn a very difficult time down the flank though.
Raul Jimenez – 6.5
Nothing the Mexican tried seemed to come off in the box, but he linked up with the other attackers superbly. Setup one of the goals for Diogo Jota in the first half as well.
Diogo Jota – 8.5
Produced two moments of magic in the first half, and linked up well with Doherty down the Wolves’ right. Pressed the ball well in midfield and worked hard off it as well.
