Aston Villa will travel to Bramall Lane to take on Sheffield United hoping to create some gap between them and the relegation zone. Only a superior goal difference to Southampton is currently keeping Villa from the 18th spot as they have failed to win in their last three games.

This will be the first meeting between the two sides in the Premier League since 2006-07. Aston Villa are yet to lose to the Blades in the Premier League, but Sheffield have looked good this season under Chris Wilder. United currently occupy the 8th spot on the table, and it is quite clear that the Blades are punching above their weight at the moment. Hence, it could be a tight game and Villa will need to be at their best to stop Wilder’s men.

Team News: Tyrone Mings is going to be unavailable, and that will be a big blow to Dean Smith. Ming’s good form for Villa this season earned him a national team call up, but the English defender will miss out in defence with a hamstring injury. Matt Targett is also doubtful after he had to come off against Leicester City. Keinan Davis and Jed Steer are going to miss out because of injuries.

Aston Villa Predicted Lineup Vs Sheffield United

Formation (4-1-4-1)

Experienced England international Tom Heaton will start in goal again. Ezri Konsa is likely to keep his place in the centre back role. Bjorn Engels will likely join him in defence after the injury to Mings. Welsh international Neil Taylor could get the chance to start at left-back if Targett fails to recover. Villa might opt for Frederic Guilbert at right back in place of Elmohamady.

Marvelous Nakamba will likely keep his place in the defensive midfield role. We are expecting Conor Hourihane to make a return to the lineup in place of Douglas Luiz from the Leicester defeat. Scottish international John McGinn will partner him in central areas.

Jack Grealish has found joy by playing on the flanks, and he will likely feature from the left. Grealish often looks to cut inside and occupy central areas instead of hugging the bylines. Anwar El Ghazi should start from the right-wing spot. Egyptian international Trezeguet could also be an option, but he might have to miss out.

Wesley Moraes has fired four goals for Villa so far, and he will look to add to his tally against the stubborn Sheffield defence. He should lead the line for the Birmingham based outfit.
