Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolves side came back from an early goal down to come back and tie the game against Sheffield United 1-1 at the Molineux Stadium earlier today. The Blades opened the goal-scoring through a 2nd-minute stunner by Lys Mousset, before Raul Jimenez and Matt Doherty linked up to create the Wolves equaliser. Despite there being chances on either end, the goalkeepers are the ones who came out on top during the game.
Here Are The Wolves Player Ratings:
Rui Patricio – 7.5
Did well to salvage a point for the home side, after conceding a goal to Lys Mousset early in the match.
Leander Dendoncker – 5.5
The defender was partly responsible for allowing Mousset too much space in the lead-up to the Blades’ first goal. Needs to improve his form if he doesn’t want to be dropped.
Conor Coady – 6.5
Although he wasn’t walked around on any occasion, he didn’t look like his solid self in the heart of the defence. Allowed the Blades attackers too many openings during the game.
Max Kilman – 7
The youngster was given a league debut by Nuno Espírito Santo tonight, and he was unquestionably the best of the three Wolves centre-halves. Maintained his position superbly.
Matt Doherty – 8.5
The full-back was a constant threat down the flank for the home side, as he stepped up when it mattered and got the equalising goal as well. Deserved man of the match.
Ruben Neves – 7.5
The Portuguese sensation was moving the ball around with a lot of confidence, in what is sure to be a hugely positive sign for Wolves fans.
Joao Moutinho – 7
Although he doesn’t have the same kind of energy as Neves, the veteran used his experience to keep possession ticking and bring Wolves back into the game in the second half.
Jonny Otto – 6.5
Moved the ball well down the flanks, but needs to offer a little more defensive cover. Linked up well with the wingers and got forward whenever he was allowed space to do so.
Adama Traore – 7
The speedster’s advances were all stopped by the Blades in the first half, but that didn’t stop him from creating multiple moments of magic over the course of the 90 minutes.
Raul Jimenez – 7.5
The Mexican came up with the most inspired moment of the match today when he decided to pick out Doherty at the far post. Held up the play quite well too.
Diogo Jota – 6
The Spaniard had a few opportunities to take the shot on or set up his teammates but wasn’t able to take any of them. Needs to be more careful on the ball in the final third.
