According to a recent report by The Mirror, Premier League outfit Arsenal are suggested to be looking at the possibility of acquiring the services of Scottish winger Ryan Fraser in the summer. The report claims that the Bournemouth youngster’s contract at the Vitality Stadium is due to end as the season comes to a close, he is triggering substantial interest from the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and even Everton.
Speaking to the media, Eddie Howe conceded that they could lose Ryan Fraser in the summer and further went on to say that the Scot is currently ‘keeping his options open’. Fraser has been one of the club’s standout players over the last couple of years, but a difficult personal situation at the club means that he’s even branded himself the ‘loner’ at the club.
What Is Ryan Fraser Current Situation At Bournemouth?
The midfielder was subject of a lot of transfer interest from some of the league’s giants last summer but decided to stay put at the Vitality, possibly to ensure that he kept getting regular playing time. He joined the club in the winter of 2013, after impressing massively during his stint with the Aberdeen first-team.
It was after a loan spell at Ipswich that he was really identified by the Cherries staff as being one for the future. Since making it into the first-team setup, there’s been no stopping the Scottish winger though. He’s played at least 25 games in all of the Premier League campaigns he’s been involved in so far and has a decent goal return as well. With his contract set to expire next summer, the Scot is said to have shown reluctance to extend at the Vitality and could be set on a move away.
What Kind Of Skill-Set Does Ryan Fraser Possess?
The Scottish international is a pacy winger who gets around the pitch with impeccable guile and is one of the best ball-carriers in the entire league. He poses a massive danger to any defender he faces up and is more than capable of getting past the best of them with ease. The 25-year-old also boasts a highly venomous shot with his right foot.
Why Do Arsenal Need Him More Than Liverpool?
The Gunners’ attacking struggles under Unai Emery this season have been no secret right from the opening day, and although the likes of Nicolas Pepe and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang have had some impacts, neither has been able to deliver consistently. Despite their attack being the strongest part of the team, at least on paper, it’s quite surprising to see the Gunners’ difficulty in creating chances.
Liverpool, on the other hand, have found the perfect attacking combination under Jurgen Klopp, and look like a complete side at this point. Although the Scot’s addition would undoubtedly help the Reds in their race to the title, it’s quite clear that the Gunners are the more desperate party. Arsenal will have to do everything in their power to convince him to join them in North London, rather than move to the European champions.
