Barcelona will travel to the Estadio Municipal de Butarque to clash heads with Leganes on Saturday afternoon. The Catalan outfit are currently enjoying life at the top of the La Liga standings. They will be desperate to collect all three points so that they can consolidate their position and build a strong platform for another successful title defence this season.
Ernesto Valverde will opt for a 4-3-3 formation with Antoine Griezmann expected to return this weekend.
4-3-3 Barcelona Predicted Lineup To Face Leganes
Defence
Marc Andre ter Stegen will get another start in goal for Barca despite failing to keep a clean sheet in his past three starts in the La Liga. Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti are expected to begin this match at the heart of Valverde’s backline. The defensive duo will look to keep a good shape versus Leganes this weekend.
Sergi Roberto is suspended for this game while Nelson Semedo is sidelined due to a calf injury. Therefore, Moussa Wague could get the nod to impress at the right-back position. Junior Firpo might get a chance to shine on the other side as the left-back. Jordi Alba is a major doubt for this game as he continues to recover from his hamstring injury.
The Catalans have shipped in 15 goals in 12 league matches so far. Valverde would hope that his players can improve that record when they face off against Javier Aguirre’s men on Saturday.
Midfield
Barca might opt for a midfield three of Arthur Melo, Frenkie de Jong and Sergio Busquets as the trio look to dominate the ball and create some decent openings for the front players. All three midfielders will have to be at their best if they are to emerge victorious in what could be a tricky contest at the Estadio Municipal de Butarque.
Arturo Vidal will have to be content with a spot on the bench but might get a chance to influence the game if Valverde calls upon his services.
Attack
The Spanish champions could lineup with the front three of Antoine Griezmann, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi up top. Both Griezmann and Suarez have recovered from their respective injuries and should be ready in time to face Leganes this weekend.
Both Ousmane Dembele and Carles Perez will have to wait for their chance on the Barca bench.
