Rangers will travel to De Kuip Stadium to take on Feyenoord in their next round of fixtures in the Europa League. Gerrard’s men currently sit second in the group, and a win will ensure them a place in the knockout stages if Porto doesn’t win against Young Boys in Switzerland. Even a draw could be enough for the Bears to qualify but for that Porto will need to lose to their Swiss opponents.
Gerrard though would be glad that his side’s fate is his team’s hands and they will look to join their Glaswegian rivals Celtic in the round of 32. Rangers had managed a narrow 1-0 win over Feyenoord at Ibrox earlier. Rangers though haven’t won away against a Dutch side since the September of 1999 and Gerrard’s men would be keen to rewrite the history books.
Team News: Jordan Jones has resumed training after he injured himself against Celtic in the derby. However, he is unlikely to be involved in the matchday squad as he tries to reach his full fitness. Apart from that, the Gers are likely to have everyone fit and available.
Rangers predicted lineup vs Feyenoord
Formation (4-3-3)
Defence
Allan McGregor will be an obvious pick in goal for the away team. Connor Goldson looked shaky against Hamilton, and he will need to be at his best in this European tie. He should start as the centre back. Filip Helander could partner the Englishman in defence, and Nikola Katic might have to be content with a place on the bench.
James Tavernier is living dangerously at the moment as he has put in some shoddy displays. The captain is likely to keep his place at right-back. Borna Barisic has been fantastic this season, and he should start at left-back.
Midfield
Steven Davis wasn’t involved from the start against the Accies, and we expect him to return to the starting lineup for this all-important game. He should be partnered by Glen Kamara and Ryan Jack in midfield. Jack has especially been fantastic this season as he has managed to take his game to the next level.
Attack
Ryan Kent showed ominous signs against Hamilton as he managed a brace. He will begin on the left flank once again. Sheyi Ojo could get the nod to start on the right in place of Scott Arfield. Alfredo Morelos was only involved as a late substitute against the Accies, and it was clear that Gerrard was keeping his main man fresh for this tie. The Colombian will lead the line for the Bears.
