According to the reports from the Sun, Celtic have made an offer to sign 15-year-old in-demand winger Bruno Davidson. The winger currently plies his trade for Hutchison Vale who are an Edinburgh based senior non-league football club. They are members of the East of Scotland Football League.
It is believed that the reigning Scottish champions are leading the race for Davidson. Along with the Hoops, English clubs like Wolves, Leicester City and Southampton are also said to be interested. From the lower divisions, Sunderland are also keen, and they too have made an offer to Davidson.
Why Celtic Seems Like An Ideal Destination For Davidson’s Development
Celtic have a rich history of promoting and finding young talent, so they will likely see Davidson as an option for the future. Last season, we saw Lennon give chances to 16-year-old Karamoko Dembele who impressed in the last few games of the campaign. Davidson would be aware that if he goes on to impress at Parkhead, then he might be drafted into the senior team a lot sooner.
We think that might influence the youngster’s decision to move to Celtic rather than some of the English clubs as he could get a much quicker path to play first-team football. Playing at the top level is the best way to learn and develop Davidson will hope that he can kick on from here.
How Will Davidson Fit In At Celtic Park?
Not much is known about the youngster as he is only 15 and he has been playing for a non-league side like Hutchison Vale. However, the fact that teams from south of the border are also interested in him is enough testament to his talent. Moreover, Celtic have reportedly even made an offer to the youngster instead of just keeping tabs on him or bringing him in for a trial.
It remains to be seen where the youngster might travel to continue his footballing career. The youngster has reportedly (The Scottish Sun) visited Liverpool which is most likely to be for a trial. Sunderland have also made an offer for him along with the Hoops.
It is always advisable to keep the young pool of players coming in. Davidson is still quite raw at the moment, and he will need to keep on working hard to make it at the top level. Hopefully, Davidson will realise that joining a top club is just the first step towards achieving something meaningful in the football world. It remains to be seen now whether Celtic will get the 15-year-old talent or not.
