Liverpool will entertain Brighton and Hove Albion at Anfield on Saturday evening looking to stretch their eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League table. The Reds will come into this clash after being held to a 1-1 draw by Napoli in the UEFA Champions League. Therefore, the Merseyside giants will be desperate to return to their winning ways when the Seagulls visit Anfield this weekend.
Jurgen Klopp will stick with his favoured 4-3-3 formation and might make a few changes to his first-team for this upcoming league encounter versus an unpredictable Brighton side.
4-3-3 Liverpool Predicted Lineup To Face Brighton And Hove Albion
Defence
Alisson Becker is a nailed-on starter in goal for the Reds despite failing to keep a clean sheet versus Napoli in midweek. The centre-back pair of Dejan Lovren and Virgil Van Dijk will continue to feature at the heart of the Liverpool backline as they try to work towards securing a shut-out at Anfield this weekend.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to return against the Seagulls and will play in the right-back position. Andrew Robertson could feature on the other side as the left-back. Both full-backs will focus on creating chances by putting in some dangerous crosses from the wide areas. However, they need to put in a solid shift defensively as well if the home team are to restrict the Brighton attackers from scoring a goal.
Joe Gomez will likely drop to the bench but might come on during the game if required. However, Joel Matip is still out of action with a long-term injury.
Midfield
Klopp might choose to shuffle up his midfield pack so the talented trio of Georginio Wijnaldum, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could lineup together at the centre of the park. All three Liverpool midfielders should be fresh and ready for this game while Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita and Adam Lallana await their chance on the bench.
Fabinho is suspended for this match versus Graham Potter’s men which will be a big loss for the Merseyside club. The Brazilian midfield ace also picked up an injury against Napoli on Wednesday night so Klopp would hope that he can make a speedy recovery.
Attack
The Reds frontline will be comprised of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah as they try to link up with each other and do most of the damage in the opposition half. Neither of them managed to find the back of the net in midweek so we can expect them to be hungry for goals when Brighton come to town on Saturday.
Divock Origi will have to settle for a spot on the bench but might get a chance to make an impact if Klopp decides to call upon his services.
