Leeds United might be playing some good football, but they have continued to frustrate in equal measures as they have failed to convert their domination into wins. After earning a last gasp draw at Deepdale against Preston, they will travel to the Hillsborough Stadium to take on Sheffield Wednesday.
The Whites have the best defence in the league so far, but their failure to score more than one goal has troubled them. They need to bring a lot more consistency if they want to stay in the automatic promotion spots. Sheffield Wednesday meanwhile have enjoyed an excellent start to their campaign, and they trail the Whites by just one point as they are occupying the third spot on the table. One can expect a tight battle with the second-placed team taking on the third.
Team News: Club captain Liam Cooper will continue to miss out because of a groin issue. Pablo Hernandez was supposed to be ready after the international break. However, he faced a fresh hamstring problem before the tie against Birmingham, and he could miss out once again. Adam Forshaw and Jamie Shackleton are also likely to be unavailable.
Leeds United Predicted Lineup Vs Sheffield Wednesday
Formation (4-1-4-1)
Defence
Kiko Casilla should continue in goal once again. He should be protected by the defensive pairing of Ben White and Gaetano Berardi. Luke Ayling should occupy the right-back spot as Dallas will have to fill in in midfield once again. Ezgjan Alioski is expected to start over Barry Douglas at left-back.
Midfield
Kalvin Phillips faced a tough battle against Preston, and he will look to get back to his best against the Owls. He should start in the deepest role in midfield. Mateusz Klich is one of Bielsa’s most trusted players, and he will once again start in the middle.
The other midfield spot is likely to go to Stuart Dallas with Shackleton and Forshaw likely to miss out. Helder Costa will get another chance to impress in the absence of Hernandez. His performances have been lukewarm so far. Jack Harrison should be on the left flank once again.
Attack
The biggest dilemma for United is who will lead the line. Most of the fans clearly want Eddie Nketiah to start. However, the man who makes the decision still seems to be preferring Bamford. We think that the Arsenal youngster should get his first start in the Championship after rescuing a point off the bench in the midweek game.
