According to a recent report by Don Balon, Real Madrid are preparing to make a move for RB Salzburg striker Erling Haaland during the winter transfer period. The same source has also revealed that Zinedine Zidane is willing to cash in on his summer signing Luka Jovic to fund a move for the €20m-rated Norwegian marksman in January.
Erling Haaland’s Incredible Goal-Scoring Record At Salzburg This Season
Jovic has failed to impress after joining the Galacticos earlier this summer, and it is believed that Zidane wants to ship him out for a more prolific striker (via Don Balon). Haaland has been in the form of his life for Salzburg this season. The 19-year-old has scored 18 goals and created five assists in 11 matches for Jesse Marsch’s side this term in all competitions.
The Leeds-born talent has already bagged four hattricks for the Austrian giants during this campaign which is quite mesmerising for a striker of his age. The Norwegian centre-forward has burst into the scene out of nowhere since arriving from Molde FK and has also been impressive in the UEFA Champions League as well. He has scored four goals in two European matches against KRC Genk and Liverpool respectively.
If he can continue finding the back of the net consistently for Salzburg this season, then his stock will only go up in the European transfer market. Hence, Zidane would be wise to steal a march on his competition by making a move for the talented Austrian Bundesliga striker this winter.
What Will The Two-Time Norway International Add To Zidane’s Team?
Haaland is a very quick centre-forward who has a terrific turn of speed which allows him to dribble with the ball and deal a lot of damage in the final third. He is also a commanding presence up top as he often manages to emerge victorious when going in headfirst during a 50-50 aerial duel with the opposition defender. The Norwegian frontman is a fox inside the opposition penalty box as he tends to find space and finish off chances when they present itself.
Real Madrid Set To Move In For Haaland In January: Wise Move For Zidane?
The Salzburg rising star has been unforgiving in front of goal in recent weeks, but the jury is still out on whether he can keep his remarkable goal-scoring form going for the remainder of this campaign. Los Blancos will do well to prise him away from Austria when the transfer window reopens in January.
Haaland is a promising young talent who will be an ideal number two to Karim Benzema at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Therefore, the Galacticos will be wise to beat their competition by orchestrating a move to land the European sensation in January.
