Celtic will face newly promoted side Ross County this weekend at Parkhead. The Hoops are trailing Rangers by two points, and they will know that they need to win this tie to stay on their arch-rivals’ heels. The Gers will play on Sunday so Celtic will have a chance to go on the top of the table for atleast a day.
Ross County meanwhile have done well as they are sitting on the fifth spot in the table and are currently unbeaten in their last four games. However, Lennon’s men should have enough quality to see them off this Saturday. The manager though should be wary of any complacency as Celtic recently dropped points against the so-called ‘lesser teams’
Team News: Ryan Christie is suspended as he was shown a red card against Livingston. Centre back Jozo Simunovic is a long term absentee. Hatem Abd Elhamed played for Israel during the international break so he should be available for selection after missing out Celtic’s last game. Winger Michel Johnston is close to making a return, but it could be touch and go with him. Goalkeeper Scott Bain is also going to miss out due to a hand injury. Leigh Griffiths might be available for selection.
Celtic Predicted Lineup Vs Ross County
Formation (4-2-3-1)
Defence
Fraser Forster has become the first choice starter in goal, and he should continue in that role once again. Christopher Jullien is expected to continue at centre back. He should be partnered by Kristoffer Ajer who has looked shaky in the last few games.
Elhamed is likely going to be available for selection, but he could be rested keeping the upcoming Europa League game in mind. Moritz Bauer might get the nod to start at right-back. Summer signing Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo is expected to begin at left-back.
Midfield
Scott Brown will be in his usual conservative role in the middle. Callum McGregor is expected to partner him in central areas, and he will look to dictate play from there. Olivier Ntcham should get the nod to start as an attacking midfielder with Christie being unavailable.
James Forrest is likely going to keep his place on the right flank. Norwegian international Mohamed Elyounoussi is expected to start on the left with Johnston still being a doubt. Scott Sinclair is unlikely to be involved as Lennon has overlooked him so far.
Attack
Odsonne Edouard fired a hattrick for France’s u-21 team, and he will be expected to lead the line for the Bhoys.
