According to a recent report by the Sun, Liverpool are currently in front of the queue to secure the services of Exeter City starlet Ben Chrisene. The same source has also mentioned that the Reds have moved ahead of Chelsea in the race to land the talented English whizkid after they sent out an invitation to the player requesting him to represent their youth side this weekend.
It is believed that both Southampton and Bayern Munich are also interested in sealing a move for the Exeter midfielder (via the Sun).
Liverpool’s Recent Transfer Strategy Reveals Their Long-Term Plans For Success
The Merseyside club are always looking to build for the future and have lately turned their attention towards recruiting some promising young players as evidenced by their summer arrivals, Sepp van den Berg and Harvey Elliott. Jurgen Klopp has an academy that has produced some talented prospects such as Rhian Brewster, Harry Wilson, Ben Woodburn and Caoimhin Kelleher.
Hence, it is no surprise that the European champions are once again focusing on bringing in some quality youth players so that they can establish long-term success at Anfield. Chrisene became Exeter’s youngest ever player when he came off the bench to feature against Coventry City in the EFL Cup back in August.
The 15-year-old has incredible potential to become a top professional in English football, but he has a long road ahead of him. The English whizkid needs to be patient and concentrate on improving his overall game with each season. He could thrive if allowed the opportunity to join the Liverpool Academy as he will have better players around him which might bring the best out of him.
Even though Chrisene is just 15, Klopp won’t mind throwing him at the deep end when he is ready to represent the club at the senior level. The Exeter teenager is an exceptional young talent who can undeniably earn his move to Merseyside if he decides to accept Liverpool’s invitation and puts in a nice little cameo for the club’s youth side later this week.
Is Chrisene A Star In The Making?
The Merseyside giants have a decent track record of nurturing young and talented players which have helped them get back to the pinnacle of European football. The remarkable rise of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez and Andrew Robertson should serve as proof that the Reds are willing to give their younger players a chance. Chrisene is undoubtedly a prospect to look out for in the future, so the Premier League leaders will do well to prise him away from Exeter.
