In a recent interview with the Liverpool Echo, German football expert Kevin Hatchard shared his thoughts on Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho’s future when he said, “Jadon Sancho is a player Dortmund had no interest in whatsoever in selling in the summer just gone.
“That was quite clear from the get-go.
“All the links with Manchester United, although United were very much interested in him, they were wide of the mark as he was never going to go in the summer.
“That situation is not necessarily going to be the same next summer.”
Hatchard went on to add (via Liverpool Echo), “Hans-Joachim Watzke, who’s the CEO, has already indicated that they don’t think they can keep Sancho in the long-term.
“So, if the money was right and Sancho was willing to come back to the Premier League I would expect Liverpool to be in that market.”
Sancho’s Majestic Career In German Football
The English rising star has enjoyed a fantastic spell at Dortmund since joining from Manchester City in the summer of 2017. He has set the Bundesliga on fire by putting in some majestic displays for Lucien Favre’s side during this calendar year.
Sancho has made a bright start to this campaign as well after scoring four goals and grabbing seven assists in 11 appearances across all competitions. The 19-year-old already has the x-factor which distinguishes him from other players of his age. He is currently a key member of Gareth Southgate’s England national side, having earned eight international caps while netting two goals for the Three Lions thus far.
What Will The English Whizkid Bring To Merseyside?
Sancho is very good with the ball at his feet and can make some devastatingly quick runs behind the opposition backline. He is a hard man to catch when he is running with pace in the final third. The Three Lions starlet can also link-up play well with others around him and possesses the ability to pick out a killer pass in the offensive end of the field.
Will Sancho Be A Good Addition To Klopp’s Squad?
The talented teenager will be a fantastic acquisition for the Reds if they can find a way to lure him to Merseyside at the end of this campaign. Jurgen Klopp currently has some excellent young homegrown players in his squad which include the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez and Rhian Brewster. However, it would do Liverpool no harm at all if they brought in a few more promising youngsters next summer. Klopp will likely want to establish a period of success at Anfield even after when he decides to part ways with the club.
Therefore, it could prove to be a brilliant signing for the European champions as Sancho ticks all the boxes when it comes to flourishing in Klopp’s ‘heavy metal’ brand of football at Anfield. His qualities on the ball and his unselfish nature in the final third make him a player worthy of representing the famous Liver bird of Liverpool.
