Everton will be on the road to face off against Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday hoping to bounce back from their 3-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester City last weekend. The Toffees are currently in a wretched run of form having lost their previous three matches in the Premier League.
Marco Silva will once again opt for a 4-2-3-1 formation with Bernard set to return to the Everton starting XI if he can pass a late fitness test.
4-2-3-1 Everton Predicted Lineup To Face Burnley
Defence
Jordan Pickford will lineup in between the sticks for the Toffees despite conceding three goals against Manchester City last weekend. Both Yerry Mina and Michael Keane will get another chance to impress as they look to keep things tidy at the heart of the Everton backline. The centre-back pair will need to improve on their recent performances drastically if they want to keep their place in Silva’s starting XI.
Seamus Coleman will be the captain of the visiting side as he assumes his duties in the right-back position. Lucas Digne will hope to be a creative outlet for the Toffees as the left-back. The French talent has managed to link up play well with others around him in the final third. However, he had to endure a dip in form recently, so this match against the Clarets could be his ideal opportunity to return to form in Everton colours this weekend.
Midfield
Morgan Schneiderlin and Fabian Delph will lineup as the holding midfielders as they look to sit deep and breakdown some of the Burnley attacks at the centre of the park. Both of them will also need to take care of the ball and create some decent openings for the front players. The talented trio of Bernard, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Richarlison will be responsible for providing adequate support to Dominic Calvert-Lewin up top.
Sigurdsson is yet to perform at a high level this season so Silva will be desperate to see the Icelandic international get his name on the scoresheet against Burnley. On the other hand, Bernard is a doubt for this game and will be in a race against time to be fit for this encounter. Otherwise, Alex Iwobi might fill in as the left wide player if needed.
Attack
Calvert-Lewin will lead the charge for the Merseyside outfit up front. He managed to find the back of the net against the Citizens, which could give him a boost of confidence heading into this clash against Sean Dyche’s men.
Moise Kean will have to settle for a spot on the Everton bench and might get a chance to make an impact if Silva calls upon his services.
