Leeds United got back to winning ways as they secured a narrow win over West Bromwich Albion recently. The Whites will now travel to the Den to take on Millwall who are winless in their last five games and are languishing in the 18th spot of the league table.
Bielsa’s men are having problems in converting their chances and domination into goals. Millwall will look to exploit that weakness once more. The two teams had a few feisty encounters last season which ticked off on quite a few occasions with both teams’ players clashing. Millwall might not be playing their best football, but they are unlikely to be a cakewalk for United.
Team News: The win against West Brom came at a cost as club captain Liam Cooper is out for six weeks. Young midfielder Jamie Shackleton is also going to miss out. Pablo Hernandez’s situation is still uncertain after a muscle issue which saw him miss the game against the Baggies. Adam Forshaw’s situation is also likely to be assessed closer to the matchday.
Leeds United Predicted Lineup Vs Millwall
Formation (4-1-4-1)
Defence
Kiko Casilla put in an assured display in the midweek game, and he will look to continue his good work in goal. With Liam Cooper being out, Gaetano Berardi is going to be his likely replacement in defence. On-loan Brighton defender Ben White will continue as the other centre back.
Ezgjan Alioski scored the winner against West Brom, and he is expected to start over Barry Douglas at left-back once again. Luke Ayling is back on the pitch, but Stuart Dallas has been terrific so far at right-back so he will continue in that role.
Midfield
Kalvin Phillips will play in his typical defensive midfield position. The Englishman has often been crucial to United’s chances, and he will have to battle it out with Millwall’s midfield. Mateusz Klich is nailed-on starter in the central areas. The attacking midfield spot could go to Tyler Roberts with Shackleton being out and Forshaw being a doubt.
Helder Costa is yet to unleash his best, and the Whites will hope that he will get going soon. The summer arrival is expected to start if Hernandez misses out once again. Jack Harrison’s final product is still an issue, but with no other plausible option, he should keep his place on the left flank.
Attack
Patrick Bamford had a good game in midweek, but he visibly needs some goals to get back his confidence. He should lead the line for the Whites.
