Tottenham Hotspur’s uneventful start to the campaign has forced many of their star players to become unsettled. The future of Mauricio Pochettino is already under doubt while the likes of Toby Alderweireld and Christian Eriksen might be available next summer as their respective contracts are expiring at the end of the campaign.
Should any of these three individuals depart Tottenham in the summer, the club will become vulnerable when it comes to losing their star players. Harry Kane, in particular, is one of those players, who is targeted by a host of clubs across Europe. And in this article, we will talk about three potential destinations for the Spurs strikers if leaves north London next summer.
Real Madrid
Real Madrid are an ideal suitor for Kane as the European giants continue their search for a new striker. Zinedine Zidane’s men have lacked the presence of a leader in the attack following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo last summer. Luka Jovic was brought in from Eintracht Frankfurt. But, the Serbian has failed to make an early impact while Karim Benzema is nearing the final phase of his career.
Kane, to that end, will be an excellent option for Los Blancos. The English international has a vast amount of experience at the highest level of football and should make a nice combination with the likes of Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio. His hard-working nature also bodes well for Zidane’s system.
However, what makes Kane such an appealing target for Real Madrid is his ability to test the ‘keeper from long-range, which will be extremely useful in La Liga.
Barcelona
Barcelona will be actively searching the market for a new striker as they prepare for life without Luis Suarez and to an extent, Lionel Messi. The Uruguayan international has struggled with a host of fitness problems within the past 12 months. As a result, the Catalans have often failed to maintain their consistency upfront. And that’s where Kane comes into the fray.
The Spurs forward has a healthy injury record and should add the bite in the Barcelona attack, especially with the likes of Messi and Antoine Griezmann partnering him on the flanks. Kane’s hold-up play will allow his teammates some additional space in the final third while his long-range shooting prowess is always a threat for the opposition.
Put simply, Kane should be Barcelona’s desired replacement for the ageing Suarez.
Paris Saint-Germain
With Edinson Cavani nearing the final stage of his carer, PSG will also be looking to sign a new striker – making them a potential destination for Kane.
The French giants have significantly improved their team in recent years and have been doing well under the leadership of Thomas Tuchel. To that end, Kane’s potential addition could further strengthen their attacking unit that already boasts the services of gifted superstars like Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.
Not to mention, the Ligue 1 champions are likely to offer Kane a more lucrative contract than both Barcelona and Real Madrid. And as far as other clubs concerned, it’s unlikely Spurs would want to sell their prized asset to a direct rival in the Premier League.
