Liverpool will travel to the English capital to clash heads with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday on the back of a disappointing 2-0 loss against Napoli in midweek. However, the Reds have every reason to be confident about their chances of securing a positive result at West London this weekend as they are still the only team with a 100% winning record in the Premier League this season.
Jurgen Klopp is expected to stick with his favoured 4-3-3 formation and might make one change to his side for this encounter against Frank Lampard’s men. Georginio Wijnaldum should start in place of James Milner after the Dutch midfield ace was rested in midweek.
4-3-3 Liverpool Predicted Lineup To Face Chelsea
Defence
Adrian will continue to feature in goal for the Reds after his brilliant display against Napoli on Tuesday night. The defensive partnership between Virgil Van Dijk and Joel Matip will continue at the heart of Klopp’s backline as the duo look to keep a clean sheet at the back versus the Pensioners this weekend.
Trent Alexander-Arnold should start at right-back as he tries to deliver some dangerous crosses into the Chelsea penalty box. Andrew Robertson will operate on the other side in the left-back position. We can expect him to put in another tireless shift down the left flank and link up with Mane in the final third.
Midfield
Klopp might choose to start with the midfield three of Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Georginio Wijnaldum as they will look to press the home side high up the pitch. The talented midfield three will be desperate to win possession back for Liverpool and feed some through balls to the front players on the counter.
Both James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will have to settle for a spot on the Liverpool bench but might get an opportunity to feature in this contest if needed.
Attack
Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah will once again link up together as part of the Merseyside club’s frontline. All three of them failed to register a goal versus Napoli on Wednesday night, so they would be desperate to return to their goal-scoring ways against the Pensioners this weekend.
