According to a recent report by AFP, Manchester United full-back, Diogo Dalot has travelled to China and is undergoing treatment under the Shanghai SIP physio Eduardo Santos, who is known as the ‘miracle doctor’. Santos gained a reputation for working ‘miracles’ and was dubbed as the ‘miracle doctor’ by the French media back in 2015 after he healed David Luiz’s hamstring tear in a few days (via AFP). Since then, a lot of well-known players like Eliaquim Mangala, Mousa Dembele and Radamel Falcao have asked for his help to overcome their injury problems (via AFP).
Dalot’s Struggles With Injuries In The 2018-19 Campaign
Random injuries have hampered Dalot’s career at Old Trafford after he joined the Red Devils from FC Porto last summer. He is yet to make an appearance for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team this season. The Portuguese full-back featured in 25 matches for the Mancunian outfit in the previous term and has three assists to his name across all competitions.
On the defensive end, the former Dragon Force prospect made an average of 1.5 tackles, 0.6 interceptions and 1.9 clearances per game in the Premier League last season (stats via whoscored).
Dalot has also represented Portugal at various youth levels but is yet to make a senior appearance for his nation. The 20-year-old has incredible potential to be a future star in European football as long as he can overcome his recent injury setbacks.
What Does The Portuguese Full-back Add To Solskjaer’s Side?
Dalot boasts decent pace and is a good dribbler with the ball down the wide areas. The Portuguese wing-back is also aggressive in the way he approaches the beautiful game but needs to be productive in the opposition half if he wants to succeed at the highest level. The Braga born starlet is still quite a raw talent and will require time to improve his game if he wants to be a first-team regular for Man United in the coming years.
Does Dalot Have A Future At Old Trafford?
If visiting a renowned doctor in China helps him overcome his recent injury problems, then Dalot could still have a bright future at the Theatre of Dreams. He is a very talented prospect who is versatile enough to play in both full-back positions or fill in as a right-sided winger if required.
Solskjaer should give Dalot another chance to prove his worth at Manchester before deciding on his future as the Portuguese defensive ace has the potential to be a success story in the English top-flight.
