Everton will entertain Sheffield United at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon hoping to bounce back from their 3-1 defeat away at Bournemouth last weekend. The Toffees have flattered to deceive with their performances in the Premier League so far. Marco Silva would hope that his players can kickstart their season with a win against the Cherries this weekend.
The Merseyside outfit could set-up in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Moise Kean leading the charge for them up front.
4-2-3-1 Everton Predicted Lineup To Face Sheffield United
Defence
Jordan Pickford is expected to start in between the sticks despite conceding seven goals in his past three outings in the English top-flight. Yerry Mina and Michael Keane will continue their defensive partnership at the heart of the Everton defence. The centre-back duo will need to improve and put in a solid defensive display versus the Blades this weekend.
Seamus Coleman will assume his duties at right-back while Lucas Digne looks to link up play going forward on the other side as the left-back. The French defender has managed to create a lot of chances for the Toffees in the final third so he would have to strike a balance between when to defend and when to attack.
Midfield
Morgan Schneiderlin and Fabian Delph will operate as the anchormen in midfield looking to break down the away team’s attacks on the counter. The dynamic duo has to retain possession and dictate play for Everton at the middle of the park. The talented trio of Alex Iwobi, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Richarlison will try to cause a lot of problems for the Sheffield defenders as part of Silva’s frontline.
Sigurdsson has struggled to fire on all cylinders so far in this Premier League campaign, so this upcoming encounter could be an ideal opportunity for him to return to form in front of the home supporters.
Attack
Moise Kean might get another chance to shine for the Merseyside club despite Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s goal-scoring display against the Cherries last weekend. Silva’s summer acquisition is yet to prove his true worth to the Toffees supporters. Hence, this home game could be a decent chance for him to put on a match-winning cameo versus Chris Wilder’s men on Saturday.
